By The Numbers

April 21, 2010 – 9:16 am

The story this week thus far is earnings. Apple, Goldman Sachs, MacDonald’s and AT&T all reported not only better than expected earnings but numbers that significantly outpaced the most optimistic expectations by the experts. So far 84% of all reported earnings by corporations have exceeded their guidance. Of course there are more numbers to come but that is a very strong number and the guidance for the next quarter is strong.

The economic numbers are tying into the earnings numbers so conditions are improving and it appears that we are seeing an accelerating improvement.

Still there will be a correction in stock prices. The question today is when will it start? The good news may mean any correction might be later and not as deep.

Good Trading
