Tigers Rising

May 19, 2009 – 11:49 am

It appears that investors are paying little attention to major changes on the other side of the world: China and India.

In India, a new government has been elected after a month long voting cycle. That new government is pro liberalization of their economy. This will spark growth.

In China, there has been some recent structural changes made that allows for the possibility of accelerated growth this year and next which ultimately will provide the U.S. with better expectations for the future. China has changed their laws recently to allow investment from mainland to Taiwan and from Taiwan into mainland China. They also have approved the issuance of corporate bonds dominated in U.S. Dollars for the first time. This will greatly boast their capital base meaning it will give Chinese companies access to less expensive money to grow their companies.

These are seeds of future growth and that future is now.
